Please moderators, if this is in the wrong section, let me know.

I figured most people ordering from M1S would be browsing the 'Build it yourself' threads.
How many people have orders going with Model1Sales right now?

How many people have ordered from them in the past?

If so, did you receive fraud charges on your CC?

I ordered from them earlier this year, and a month later my card was shut down by the bank for fraudulent charges.

I wasn't sure who leaked my CC info since I order online frequently, but after reading a few threads, it seems like most people ordering from them have these issues.
I placed an order Nov 6th from their website, and received an email the next day saying it might be 6 weeks until my order ships.

it has been over two months now and I have not received my order, nor can I reach them on the phone, or by email.

I call multiple times throughout the day, right before they open and right at the end of the business day. Apparently they are unplugging the phone as soon as they open up shop so they don't have to deal with customers.
I placed a complaint with their local BBB (who they are members with) and am waiting for a response.

This may be the only way for Model1Sales to stop being childish and answer the phone or send out an email.
How many others are waiting on orders from M1S and when did you place that order?

I placed an order with them on the 18th and I think they voided my order. Bank Account is heavier than it should be.

Rugged, I too have experienced difficulty in trying to get in contact with Model 1 via phone or email.  I just need to cancel an order...
You'd think that they would at least give an explanation on their website as to why they are ignoring their customers.
Might they be out of business?

Um, have non of you been paying attention?  All the sellers are slammed and some are just not big enough to keep up.  And it doesn't help them when everyone keeps calling asking when something is going to ship.

Yeah, I have. BCM is still getting orders out within 2-3 weeks.

If you would pay closer attention to my post, I placed my order November 6th. That was 6 weeks before the AR ban panic began.

But that is not my main concern. I'm more upset about the shady business tactics going on with this company.

I used to run my own business and I know that when you get swamped, you stop taking orders for a little while if you can't keep up. For them to shut off the phone lines during business hours and not reply to emails is reason enough for people to black-ball M1S.

I can't even get in contact with them to change my shipping address since I moved last month, or cancel my order if need be.

I find it funny though they still have time to go to gun shows and make a buck rather than spend time on current orders: http://gunshowreview.wordpress.com/2013/01/03/

While doing a little more research on Model1Sales the past few weeks I have come to find out some concerning information.

Aside from the credit card information leaks they are famous for, I have also found out that the owner (Cindy Stout, aka Cindy Drasen, aka Cindy Aleo) is a convicted felon who was involved with David Koresh (doesn't ring a bell? Remember Waco, TX?). She cannot legally be in possession of a firearm, but she has been working in the gun parts industry for 20+ years.

Is that someone you really want handling your credit card info?

When I started looking for parts to build my first AR I was going to order a kit from them.  I went to google typed in model one sales reviews and this website showed a bunch of threads about them and their practices.  They have been known for years for scamming CC which is why I did not use them.  They look professional from the SGN ads but it seems they are far from it, I decided to take my money elsewhere.  Why don't you call your CC company and have them cancel the order?

Stop whining.  If your card was charged, call your CC company and have the charges reversed and tell them you can't contact M1S.

Model 1 Sales sucked for customer service AND quality long before now.  Spend your money elsewhere.

Complaining to the BBB is like complaining to your mother.  It might feel good, but nothing will happen.  BBB can do nothing.

Or keep quiet and wait 20 weeks for your crappy parts to (maybe) show up.

I have been in the same situation.  No charges yet,  everything I ordered says in stock still.  Ordered a few week ago. I would reallyprefer to just cancel at this point but can't get through.

Say what you want, I got a call back within 2 days from Model1Sales after I filed a complaint with BBB.
Supposedly my order is shipped now.

Your caveat emptor attitude is the reason businesses like this still screw people over. If enough people get pissed off they will do something about it instead of just saying 'no one will listen if I complain'.

Had issues with M1S a few years ago, seems like they don't have most of the stuff they advertise for sale. Never received what I ordered, went elsewhere, never looked back.

I have done business with them and have no issues with them. My upper was hitting way left left and couldn't be sighted in. Contacted them and
was told to send back for them to check. They sent a completely new upper and threw in a 30 round mag., had it back in a week. I thought is
was great customer service.

Last rush they were taking orders on line and had a very lengthy back order log but was selling every ar part they had at the gun shows locally. There was pictures some one took of their booth with a lot of ar build kits , uppers , barrels ect. I guess they figured they could make quick cash at the shows and have a contentious revenue stream to fall back with back orders once the rush at the shows was over.

Kinda makes sense to have stock in a booth at a show to sale. I don't know about most people but If I walk up to a booth and they don't have what I want or need I go to where I can get it with cash in hand.

It's also kinda a 'fuck you' to  the customers who ordered by phone or on the site and have already paid for that stuff that is sitting on the tables

whilst being lied to and told 'it's not is stock'.

That's just scumbagerriffic.

On the other hand I'm certain they aren't the only ones doing this at this time.

During the last 'panic buy': Blackthorne had a plethora of kits for sale at double and triple the price on some of the auction sites while
they had a chorus of complaints about backorders.

Gun Smoke Enterprises was sellling their builds piled high with craptastic airsoft accessories at premium prices while

refusing to answer questions about parts I had ordered from their site.  "We don't sell uppers."

In Oct 2012 I ordered two ar kits from M1S. The customer service was great. It took 6 weeks just like the email said it would and I have no problems with the quality of parts that I received. I ordered two more kits in Dec 18th and 24th 2012 and the email says 10-12 weeks so I'm waiting patiently. Hopefully my CC doesn't get jacked and the kits arrive in around another month. Everyone is busy. I've got PMAGS, ammo, and other stuff all on back order and all phone lines are busy......

with the long-standing issues with M1S, I don't know how they keep finding new people. Does nobody search before they buy? M1S has been bad at comms for like, a decade.
