Anyone try these guys, they have decently priced barrels. I was wondering what if anyone knows the quality of them or if they are worth it?

Link to barrels Talked to those guys on the phone ten or twelve years ago, total assholes. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. That being said, I've never heard or read anything great about them. I have built about 12-15 of their kits way back when. Not one of them had an issue. The only kit I have ever had an issue with was American Spirit Arms. They had a nice looking girl with a cool acent back then but the kit wasn't so good.
I'm doing another budget build for a friend and after reading all the reviews I'll be using Del-Ton. Their M4 type kits come factory with M4 type feed ramps and the M4 handguards have double heat sheilds. No, that suff isn't needed but it's nice to have at no extra cost over a Model-1 kit. As a matter of fact it's even a litte less expensive than Model-1. Oh, they also give a small Military / LEO discount if you send a pic of your ID. Not much but it will cover most of the shipping. |

I only buy uppers and equip from them... AT GUN SHOWS. I don't order from them due to excessive issues with back orders and credit card numbers being compromised. In 5 complete uppers i've bought from them, i had to send 1 back for a canted gas block/sight. Otherwise, they've been solid tac-drivers. ETA: I read through some of the other posts and like someone else said, they're LPK's are a roll of the dice. I've had some that felt like a 1911 and some that felt like i was trying to start a fire with 2 rocks. They've all worked... just not equally well, they don't manufacture them themselves, so it just depends on who's parts from where you happen to get in that order. ETA2: As far as barrels go, the shaws are nice, but the AR10 barrels they have are the cat's meow. If you don't know the name Krieger, look 'em up. That's all Model1 sells for AR10 barrels, and that's anyone with skill should need to leave 1 ragged hole in a target. |
