| I did a search and didn't find the answer I was looking for. Has anyone modified their Geissele rails to make them work on a billet upper? I have a Noveske Billet upper and the anti-rotation tabs wont allow it to fit. I am thinking of just cutting them off. |

Well the thread isn't showing up in my subscriptions so I'll describe the process. It's easy.
Install barrel and barrel nut (lightly torqued, we're just fitting the rail). Slide rail on to barrel nut until the tabs but up against the receiver. With a sharp pencil outline the area on the tabs where the receiver interferes. Remove rail. With a Dremel and grinding bit, remove the offending material. You should only be grinding on the inside of the tab. Check fit periodically by sliding rail onto barrel nut, noting how much more material to remove by observing how far the top rails are apart. Once grinding is complete, use a birchwood alumablack pen to cover ground areas. Install rail and anti rotation tab grub screws. You're done. Should take a half hour to 45 minutes to do. You'll never see the ground areas. |
| i did it with my mega billet set.It took me about 20 minutes with a dremel and taking the rail on and off to get the size right.once you put the rail on and start test fitting it youll see exactly what you need to grind down and how much.Just take your time and its super simple and nobody will even know you did it once the rail is on. |

What Rob78 said. Here's the pre-cut fit (highlight added): http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b563/CarpNY/SMRASA2_zps76cf41d6.jpg and after (ignore small scuff-mark): http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b563/CarpNY/SMRASA5_zpsr7fiqgu1.jpg Looks good! I will see what I can do. |
