Hello all new member to the forum.
I went to the gun show today and shopped around for an AR, i had in mind a few different options for a AR that i put a little bit of research into, i still have a California drivers license so i needed a private sale, lived there for 4 years because of my wife, hated every second not alot of options for private transfer so i was limited in what i could pick up I was disappointed once i got the show that there weren't alot of AR's for sale in my price range $1000, i looked at the booths and bypassed a few different AR's A New Frontier and Olympic a couple Bushmasters with polymer lowers, i was talking to a guy who had a few different ARS for sale a couple Moores and a bushmaster, the Moores were 725 the bushmaster was 850, i asked him about the Moore rifle he said that they were a old machine company out of NC that had been making ARs for about 5 years and that they had recently really started to produce a good product, i was kind of skeptical but he actually suggested the Moore over the Bushmaster because of the polymer lower, even though the bushmaster was more expensive, i bought the Moore and he threw in 2 aluminum mags and pulled the carry handle off the Bushmaster for me, i bought 100 Rounds of PMC and the total was 800$ out the door private sale. I headed home 60 mile drive, and hit up the google and did a search for Moore Machine Co ARS and my heart sank, nothing but bad reviews from numerous people about them, not a single good review to be found almost always the same complaint, feed issues and bolt carrier issues. i tossed the rifle in my truck and sped to the hills to empty a mag and try it out, the entire time i was driving had a knot in my stomach thinking i just got screwed for 800 bucks, not alot of cash but no one wants a lemon, i loaded up a mag, Slapped, Pulled, Tapped and Squeezed, first round out no problems, kept firing emptied the mag, zero problems. so long story for a short question, did i get lucky with the rifle, are they as bad as people say? was that mag i put down range just a fluke? i know a single mag isnt much, but i read a review where some guy claimed he had to eject every round by hand when he took his to the range. Thanks for any reply or info |
