I have a 20" HBAR complete upper, but want to swap to the 16" barrel. From what I've found, I can get a 16" barrel assembly from Bushmaster or Armalite for $222 or less. Will the bolt from the HBAR work with the new barrel? The HBAR has not been fired very many times. |

Don't forget to check headspacing IAW the tech manual. Use the field gauge and the go / no-go gauges. You don't want a ka-boom now, do you? Head on over to the old AR15 site and download the manuals if you don't have them. You will want the FM 23-9, TM 9-1005-319-10 and the TM 9-1005-319-23. The Marine Corps tech manual 05538C-23&P2 is good too, it's not on this site. They are listed under "downloads". old.ar15.com/books/ |

What about issues of carry handle/sight compatabilities. The barrels I'm looking at are either the Bushmaster M4 or teh Armalite 16". Will the front sights be compatible with the Colt carry handle?
