I just bought my first AR, an Armalite M15C w/ a fixed carrying handle. I tried to search the site but didnt seem to get much info on specific options for mounting an Aimpoint so that I can also use the iron sights. What are the best set-ups for mounting a dot sight in front of the carrying handle? Thanks JP |

ARMS #39. I think it will allow use of the iron sights. You could also install a rail sytem in place of the handguards. ARMS SIR, Knight's RAS, Daniel Defense or Firsh are options. ARMS #39 |

Hello Trainer and welcome to the board. The best setup to co-witness your Aimpoint (good optics choice) is the goose neck rail (Aimpoint model# 10174). You will also need the Aimpoint QRP (quick release picatinny) mount (model# 0568059). This setup will allow you to co-witness your iron sights... C4 |

I will second medicmandan's comments. but add a caveat. For the fixed CH when onyl factoring in mouting the Aimpoint the best system is the ARMS #39. The PRI version is similiarily a very good option. The ARMS 22M68 is the moutning solution out there for this setup. Aimpoint should stick to building sights, not bad but not in league with the PRI and ARMS rails and moutn - nor the GG&G and KAC mounts either. When ARMS releases the #51 SIR I think this will solve a lot of issues. -Kevin |
