Okay, I've seen EOTechs and AimPoints mounted both forward on a RAS and on the flattop in Iraq. I've heard mounting a sight forward on a RAS isn't steady enough. Chen has told me (I think) that you can mount an EOTech at the end of the flattop, next to last slot with the front end of the sight sticking out over the RAS...???? TS I need to start printing this shit out. |
| Most of the 550-series Eotechs I've seen were mounted with about an inch hanging out over the handguard. The actual mounting clamp on them is set toward the middle of the body, and isn't all that long, so even hanging some off the receiver you don't lose any mounting strength. |
