I have decided to install a light on my AR - what is the simplest mount I can get to install the light?  I'm thinking about something that I can just "bolt on" or "screw on"to my hand guard.

I don't want something that will install on my barrel / front sight because I don't want to do any re zeroing.

A light mount that will attached to the mag well / carry handle would be cool, too!

Thanks!

I’m all hip on the LaRue mount and flashlight combo.  Buying them together makes it worthwhile, as LaRue products aren’t exactly “cheap”.  That said – you can get a good light + a great mount for a very decent price – check LaRue’s “light/mount combos”.  The individual prices for the light and mount separately is rather high.  Buying them together made me happy and the folks at LaRue take care of their customers – so I say give them a try.

I like my LaRue mount so much because it hangs the light down low so I can just use my thumb on the tail-switch.  No wires or pad-switch makes the installation WAY cleaner and still functions every bit as good.  Check into to this option before you buy – I know that I’m glad that I did.

Sorry if I’m sounding like a “shill” for LaRue – but I’m just another one of their customers who is happy with what I got.  I wouldn't suggest it if I didn’t think you’d be happy too.

Thanks, Snot-Rocket.  That sounds very good to me, too,  It seems to simplify matters quite a bit,

I'm going with a Surefire 6PDL flashlight and a VLTOR offset mount. I like where the vltor places the light compared to side mounts or lower lounts. Plus the 6pdl has the option of a remote tape switch if I ever want to upgrade from a tail button.
