I asked this once before, and received some great replies, but I got side-tracked and forgot the names that were given.  I tried finding My Topics, but I guess it was too old.

I have an new R.E.P.R. and want to replace the bird cage flash hider with a good muzzle brake.

I apologize to those who took the time to reply last time.  I'm going to buy it next week so I probably won't forget the examples.

Thanks ahead of time!

These are the 2 I have experience with.

PWS FSC30

Surefire SFMB 762

I think they are both great choices.

The PWS does a good job at keeping you flat and on target. It also helps with the flash a bit.

The Surefire does a little bit better with keeping you on target, but it has a much bigger and noticeable flash.

FYI - They are both VERY LOUD, just warn who ever is standing on the side of you.

Good Luck!

I have the Badger Ordnance Micro FTE. No complaints, its very effective.

Thank you both for the choices.

Don't worry; I have a bolt gun that is chambered in 30-378 AI.  It has a Vais brake on it.

The Vais brake is very effective, but the only safe place is directly behind me when I touch one off.

Luckily my club has a separate bench for 200 yard targets, and it's far enough away from the main
line that they are relatively unaffected.  I shot it once under the covered line and even after warning everyone
some stayed...almost to the side of the brake.  This cartridge burns so much powder it blows weeds and
well-mowed grass down flat 20 yards in front of the muzzle (from the bench).  By the time I loaded the second round
everyone was either in the clubhouse or in their car.  It gives me a concussion headache after 10 rounds or so.
