I really like the Levang Linear Brake.  Link

As in every other muzzle device thread, I recommend the Surefire MB556K.

It's a little noisy but I'd swear the rifle doesn't budge a bit when you shoot. Plus, it's a suppressor mount if you get tired of the noise.

Shameless photo-op :

They're also pretty good looking in my opinion

If you don't care about flash/sound get the miculek... by far the best bang for the buck, it's essentially as good as any brake on the market in terms of recoil reduction and muzzle rise.

The Surefire MB556K is my first choice for a muzzle brake if you're not concerned about the noise/blast affecting those around you. Plus, it does allow you to mount a Surefire can. Otherwise, I would recommend the JP/Bennie Cooley muzzle brake, super effective!

+1

These work great. Also the YHM Phantom 5C1 handles muzzle jump and flash decently well, and for $34 it's hard to beat. The YHM 5C2 is basically the same thing but with "tactical teeth" on the end. I've had/used all three and still have the 5C2 phantoms.

The phantom does a great job with flash, but a pretty lousy job with recoi/muzzle jump...as compared to a rear brake.

To the OP:

Rainier Arms XTC...not the mini...
Best bang for the buck at around $57. You will love double tap drills after install.
It is a bit concussive to fellow shooters, but there are much more *annoying* brakes available.

Otherwise, pony up a few more bucks for a Spikes Dynacomp.
