I am looking for a compensator to put on a carbine length AR with a 16" barrel. I have store credit for BCM, so I am limited to their selection. I am leaning towards the PWS FSC556

Here is the link to their options:  http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Flash-Hiders-and-Compensators-s/43.htm

Any suggestions?

I was tied between the PWS556 and the Surefire muzzle brake....the Surefire won

I haven't tried the BCM Gunfighter, so based on your choices, I vote Surefire.  I used to own the PWS556 and quickly sold it.  It was obnoxiously loud, a PITA to install with the peel washer, and I didn't notice much difference in recoil compensation.

I now have a Surefire Procomp 556 brake on a 16" midlength and it is the bee's knees.  On recoil the gun pushes straight back into your shoulder, and the barrel does not jump up.  I don't perceive it to be any louder than an A2 flash hider.  When shooting I can feel a slight percussion with the 16" barrel, but I haven't stood next to someone shooting it so I don't know how disturbing it is to others.  It is beautifully machined and finished with the Melonite coating.  The only downside for me is the lack of flash compensation, so I am looking forward to the upcoming Warcomp.  Good luck.

Thank you all for your input and opinions. How well does the BCM reduced muzzle rise? and What caused you to sell your FSC556? Just because of the noise?
