I'm in the market for a new comp/brake/flash hider on my SHTF setup. 16" 5.56. I currently have a Rainier Arms mini comp on it. While it's great for range work, the concussion and flash are horrible. I couldn't imagine shooting the thing indoors...

I'd ideally like something with some flash suppression, some compensation, and little to no increase in noise (perceived OR actual) compared to a standard A2 flash hider.

I've looked at the battlecomp, spike's dynacomp, and a few others. Other than forgetting them all and putting a suppressor on, what do you recommend? Should I forget the compensation part of my equation?

If noise (concussion) and flash are your biggest concerns, forgo the break/comp and stick with a flash suppressor.
For flash suppression, few things beat the A2 cage without breaking the bank.

This is by far the best option, in my opinion:

However, it is louder than a standard A2 comp, but I do not believe it to be terribly bad. Quieter compensators will cost more.

Smith Vortex or AAC Blackout.  Blackout has a slight edge in flash but is a little more expensive.

The Battlecomp will give you what you are looking for. A little pricey but worth it overall. I've shot next to a few comps and can honestly say the battlecomp is much more forgiving when it comes to concussion and flash is not that bad at all.

Have a YHM Phantom 5c2 and love love love it!

Looks great, flash suppression is incredible and best of all it's only $21.99

It's outta stock right now but you can register to get an email when they come back in.

Good luck
