I've got a couple of pre-ban threaded barrels.I can run the flashhider all the way down with hand pressure only...I never have to put a wrench on it until I want to torque it.I thought it was supposed to "get snug"at about 3/4 of the way onto the muzzle.

 Question: Is this acceptible?
Is your rifle the same way?

Are you using a crush washer?  Are you using a NEW crush washer?

You need a new one to get the best alignment.

Doesn't sound like you are using one at all, you should get one.

You could probably get a cheap crush washer on the Equipment Exchange

I should have clarified. I am using a new crush washer.
I just meant that I can screw the fh onto the barrel with no crush washer(as a trial fit),and it goes all the way on with just the hand pressure.
Just seemed too loose!!!  Like I stated before,I thought it should begin to get snug at about 3/4 of the way on.
Ones a BM and ones a Colt.

It won't get snug without a crush washer.  It will screw all the way down but not align.
