I know ya'll get these post all the time, but nonetheless here's another.
I'm been a lurker on this site for years. Anytime I needed to find answers to questions or links to places, I come here. I registered recently when I decided to go custom. I have had three previous AR's and they have all been pretty much stock AR's aside from the optic I chose. This time around I wanted to do something custom and make it stand out. Have yet to shoot her. She's chambered in 300 blackout and since we all know its hard to find ammo, I am having to wait for some to arrive in the mail (2 more days) before I can test her out. I know the cerakote paint scheme may be love it or hate it, but I'm in love with it. I went to the local shop here in Melbourne, Florida, Tactical Graphics, looking to get a digi navy camp scheme. But he had this "polka dot camo" he had done to an SKS and I immediately knew I wanted it, just in black, gray, and blue. She was assembled by Red Dot Shooting Inc. I've replaced just about every part in an AR over my lifetime, but just didn't feel comfortable putting this one together, didn't want to scratch anything. I have an Aimpoint Pro coming next week that will be done the same pattern. Here's the part list followed by pictures: PSA upper / lower / parts kits Rainier BCG / 8.5" barrel / charging handle Troy low profile gas block Phase 5 pistol buffer tube / pigtail gas tube / extended bolt release / sling swivel / trigger guard / bungee sling Fab Defense grip Spike's Tactical 10" bar 2 Noveske Pig Mbus front / rear Timney 661-S Skeletonized 3lb Trigger B.A.D. safety selector http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/left_full_zpse652af35.jpg http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/right_full_zps05c6fedf.jpg http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/left_mid_zps38843649.jpg http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/rainier_ch_zpsc6e9c935.jpg http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/left_forearm_zpsf5a6dfa7.jpg http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/zombie_zpsb0a3e18b.jpg http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w662/Matt_Philman/AR%20Pistol/grip_zpsb2bcba9d.jpg |

Melbourne, fl, huh? I'm just over in Indialantic. I guess you've done the homework for me, as I've been looking into cerakoting places nearby. Unique color scheme. Not my style, but it looks good. Yeah, I'm actually in Rockledge. The owner of Tactical Graphics is a friend of a friend, that's how I found him. If you go into the shop, you'll see the actual piece I took the idea from. He does hydro graphics too. |

When I first saw this I thought WTF. But after a few more looks I like it. Definitely has possibilities in an earth tone scheme for me. Picture bookmarked. Quoted:

I did too when I first saw it, but it grew on me after I sat and looked at it. The original one he had done was black with od green. I do think it would look pretty sweet with an FDE scheme like you said. Quoted:
This is sweet. How much did it end up running all together? 1544 with tax and shipping for everything without the Aimpoint Pro I bought for it. I bought it piece by piece over 3 months. 250 for the cerakote which includes getting my Aimpoint pro done too, but I won't have that till Tuesday. |

Actually have a friend at my work that does cerakoting and powder coating. Its all around! |
