So I first got interested in building my own AR around October of 2012 while I was in Afghan, and I started spending most of my time one these forums, looking around, researching, etc. I ordered my upper in June 2013, and slowly finding parts, installing, switching them for better parts. And finally today, I received my optic from Leupold. So untill I can afford a suppressor, this is my completed build. I originally had a 14.5" carbine gas w/ pinned Battle Comp 1.5 but was getting gassed in the face excessively, and traded a fellow ARFCOM member for a 16" Mid length. I will take it shooting this weekend try to test it out to 600-700m.

And obviously I will be doing a rattle can paint job over it. Thoughts comments? I bought the light kind of on a whim since it was on sale.

LMT MRP Rifle Length 16" CL
Northtech Defense Lower
Geissele  SSA-E
Ares Armor Gavel Safety
BCM Mod 1 Grip
BCM FA BCG
BCM Stubby grip
B5 SOPMOD
PRI Gas Buster
Rainier Arms Buffer Tube
H Buffer
Inforce WMLX w/ Gear Sector Angled Mount
MBUS Pro Front KAC Micro 200-600m
Leupold MK6 1-6 TMR
LaRue LT807
Harris Bipods 9-12" w/ Diamond X Custom Spike Feet

Weight unloaded: 11.4 lbs
Loaded: 12.4 lbs
Its pretty heavy.

Im still learning to use my wifes camera. Did what I could with improvising lighting and a tripod.

My first thought is... OVER 12 lbs for a fricken' CARBINE???

Also, take advantage of those rails, as in how they let you add or remove stuff depending on what you're doing with the gun at the time. For example probably don't need both the bipod and vertical grip at the same time. Don't need the light during the day, etc...

Don't really think it's a good idea for your scope mount to span the upper and rail. If you change just one thing, get a cantilever mount.

Color scheme looks good as-is, if you do rattle-can it please don't rattle-can that nice expensive scope.

I agree with the other comments here.

No need to rattle can that. That Northtech lower is very nice.

First thing I'd think would be to drop the bipod and swap out the quad rail for a modular or something like the VTAC.  If the weight doesn't bother you then no prob, but since you have a stubby on there I was guessing you were planning on doing more than just shooting while prone or from a bench.  Just my two cents though, worth as much as you paid for it

MRP stands for monolithic rail platform, meaning the upper and forearm are a single unit.

Dont need a cantilever mount as the upper is all one piece. And as far as the vert grip along with bipods, personal preference, has been for a few years now, offers more versatility.

You are correct sir. I like being well rounded.

You need a light for day light, esp if you live under some sort of roof
Nice stick OP, what's your opinion on that LMT upper, seems heavy.

Yeah its pretty heavy, but in comparison, Ive seen rifles heavier on here with less i.e. only bipods and a scope. And Im not worried about the weight. The only time I have second thoughts is when I see the expression on peoples faces when I say the weight, it quickly vanishes.
I love the LMT, but as of right now Im not too sure that I want to utilize the QC barrel capability. Defeats the purpose behind the MRP I know. Options are limited to longer barrels with the rifle length chassis.

ETA: I weighed the gun, with 6 CR123s in the stock, 12 CR2032 in the front grip, and extra bolt, firing pin, and cam pin in the rear grip.

If you have any more money burning in your pocket you should look at getting a BCM Gunfighter charging handle or a Raptor  -- I think the consensus is the Raptor's the best of the bunch by a little, but cost a little more than the BCM which is sufficiently great.

Your rail covers look 10x better than the Magpul ones I have.  What kind are they?

Sorry, only 8 CR2032s.
I really wanted the Rainier Arms Raptor, still might get it depending on how the midlength gas system helps, I shoot nose to charging handle. But it might still come in handy when I get my can.
And yes the rail covers are Magpul XTMs that I stippled myself and then spray painted, along with both grips.
So far, just playing around in the house, the illumination is daylight bright even with the WMLX on against my garage door (pretty reflective). And the only time I find it flickering is when its on 6x and I dont have proper cheek weld. Otherwise, on 1x I can have horrible scope shadow and still be able to see the dot.
