For some reason some of the images aren't working. Here is a link to the album.

I have a bipod but it isn't attached. Usually I run it w/o the VFG and instead I use a full sized TD panel on the bottom rail. I cut down the TD panel you see in the photos to fit the VFG.

I started lurking in the summer, and had it done by Christmas. 3,000 rounds down the pipe so far and loving it!

They don't make them in house. As far as I know they use Lothar Walther for their SPR models, but I never could find out who makes their carbine barrels. It's 4150 and chrome lined with 1/7 twist. They're also parkerized under the FSB.

I don't like the EoTech hanging over the rail.  Is there a longer mount or rail spacer on the market?

Nice set-up, it's amazing how we all come to similar conclusions on what would work best on our M4s.

M4 builder nice collection.

And OP, nice carbine.  How is the Eotech?  I have no experience with it only the CCO.

Nice rifle, I wish I could afford a EOtech for my M4, I got a cheapo scope coming in the mail today for my carry handle.   You shot it yet?

I like it quite a bit for the type of shooting I do, and plan to do. I'm not a big fan of shooting paper, and that's where I find I like it least, but it's great for plinking and even better for tactical shooting. Target acquisition is a breeze and reticle acquisition is instantaneous. The EOTech itself isn't perfect. The buttons work, but a knob (a la Aimpoint) gives better tactile feedback and quicker adjustments. I lucked out and got the 552 new for $320, otherwise I had planned to get the 512.

My only gripe with the optic setup I have is that I planned to use the LaRue Poor Boy, but I found that pushing the EOTech and its mount forward upset the balance of the rifle. The balance problem and the extra weight of the Poor Boy made the rifle a bit too cumbersome. As it stands the rifle weighs in at 8lbs empty, and that's right where I'd like to keep it. The only additional accessory I plan on acquiring is a light and mount.

Oh yeah, and what a blast it is! I've put about 1000 rounds of Rem UMC 55 grain through it, 500 rounds of some HSM Factory New SS-109, and 1500 rounds of Barnaul 62 grain. This thing eats up brass cased ammo like it's going out of style. There are occasional hiccups with the lacquer coated Barnaul stuff - but the ammo is relatively cheap so I let it slide.
