Nice!  I love RRA components, except barrels, too heavy.  How much does yours weigh?  It's good to see a nice simple build once in a while instead of tricked out gadget filled carbines.  We need a range report!  MJD

When I assembled the upper I was surprised how heavy it is.  I don't know what it weighs,  I'll have to check that.

I have a Bushy M4 14.5" with perm attached phantom for my second build.  I'm going to rotate this upper to my second lower as a gift to my Dad.  I just couldn't wait to get the A4 upper to see a completed rifle so I went ahead and assembled it. The Bushy barrel is significantly lighter that the RRA.  I don't know by how much.  But when you hold one in each hand it's a pretty noticeable difference.

I just got the bolt carrier group and charge handle yesterday (which is why the one picture is missing the charge handle) so I haven't even had a chance to shoot yet.  I'll follow up after I put a few rounds through it.

I thought someone ganked your charging handle.

Congrats on the first build.  Looks great.

I did a simple build for my first one too. Some people told me I'd regret not building an A3, but I didn't. I may build a flat top later.

Here's my simple build.
Ameetec lower
CMMG MOD4 A2 upper
Hogue grip/gapper
M33 hand guards
RRA LPK
RRA M4 stock

I guess mine is relatively simple, it does have a free float quad rail on it and a BUIS but it doesn't have the vertical grip, light, optics (yet).  It's fun too.  By the way, post #223.  MJD

Highwayman,  Sweet AR.  I just ordered my A4 upper.  My plan is to do exactly what you did for my 2nd (these things are really addictive aren't they!).  DPMS BUIS.  Except 4 rail handguard instead of free float.

Took me forever to get to the range to shoot it.  I finally made it monday.  I ran about 50 rounds through it.  No malfunctions.  The only problem I had was with an old magazine not setting the bolt catch after last round.  My groups weren't overly impressive.  I'm certain it's the shooter and not the rifle.  I got about 1" at 50 yards while sighting in.  I rapid fired the last 15 or 20 rounds.  Again,  no problems at all.

Can't wait to finish my 2nd now!
