I'm starting my first AR build and am super nervous; I was hoping you guys could help with some basic questions. Mainly I just want to make sure that I am getting everything I need.
I'm going with PSA for my components they have some killer deals on Complete Blemished Lowers and Uppers. I've also talked to many who have bought blemished PSA and can't find the blemish at all. I'm going with the PSA Picto Lower and PTAC MOE Lower Build Kit Lower Receiver For the Upper I will be going with the PSA m4 16" CMV CL Upper w/ BCG and Charging Handle Upper Receiver My question is should all of these components work well together and fit together smoothly? Is there anything I need tool wise that may help me with my journey. I appreciate any help you can provide as well as dealing with my newbness! Thank you again! |

Most people have everything they need around the house to build a lower except an AR tool or a buttstock wrench.
You will need needle nose pliers, key wrench or screwdriver for pistol grip, some grease, and punches if you don't already have them. A vise and magwell block would help but is not required (my advice just get them now, because you will build again and it is worth a few bucks.). Lots of videos and how to. Lowers are easy. That is a great deal and should go together nicely. |
| Consider getting a Rock River Arms LPK. I've used 3 and they are way better than the PTAC or the Blackhawk! triggers. I have not tried to clean up my PTAC trigger yet but it has a really hard pull and is gritty feeling. The RRAs are clean breaking and feel great. If I had bought a PTAC 1st I would have thought AR triggers were all garbage. |
