After finding this site and reading through the Build it Yourself forum, I got the bug. I have always liked the way the Wilson Combat Tactical Rifle looked, so I wanted to build something similar. I started with a RRA lower with 2 stage trigger. For the upper, I ordered a customized 16" A3 from Model 1 Sales. I requested a fluted barrel, free float handguard, accessory rail gas block, and phantom flash hider. After placing the order, I read through all the negative posts about Model 1 and started to worry if I had done the right thing. Well, I received the upper in 4 days and it was flawless. The fit and finish are excellent. I mounted a Kahles scope on ARMS 22 rings and it shoots pretty well, slightly under 1 moa with good ammo. Now, I am trying to decide what to build next. How do you get rid of that bug once bitten???? http://images5.theimagehosting.com/100_0049.jpg.JPG http://images5.theimagehosting.com/100_0050.jpg.JPG |

You can't get rid of the bug by having an empty wallet.......that makes it WORSE. I should know, I had an empty wallet until I decided I didn't need to eat breakfast, now after 3 or 4 months, my extra money (gunfund) is hovering under $400. Yes, I'm terminal.............And I don't lie.................I haven't had breakfast in months WIZZO MAN THIS BRD IS BAD!! |

Very nice, I'm hoping to build something similar. I'm after a lightweight varmint hunting rifle that is still very accurate. I wonder how much weight the aluminum free sloat tube adds over standard CAR handguards or a carbon fiber float tube? I'm also happy to see a good report on M1 Sales. |
