I've been collecting parts for this since May. Finally got around to refinishing and putting it together today. The receiver is a Century Post Ban so I had to remove the bayonet lug and have a Branson Comp. pinned and welded on by KKF.

Can't wait to shoot it next week. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good. What upper did you use for your build?

Too bad about the bayonet lug, but NY leaves you little choice.
Nice job on the refinish, and a good match. Did you do it or send it out?

Looks good!

I ordered the upper receiver and barrel from Sarco before they raised their prices. The receiver was in nice shape but had that ugly black finish on it. The barrel had most of finish rubbed off, but the bore looked perfect. I did the finish myself with Dura Coat. I also removed the fence from the lower with a file.

Thanks for the comments.

Look's good. I wouldn't worry too much about the missing bayonet lug, how it shoots is what counts. Sure, looks is a big part of the game here but, there are a lot of XM177E1's with barrels that are too long on this forum. I hope to own one of these streached XM177e1's myself soon.

Looks good.

I am glad that you left the "evil" features off... now the streets are safer

The Bayo lug dosen't really bother me at all. I agree how it shoots is more important. The cost in NY for a pre-ban receiver makes build costs too steep. I would rather have two or three "post" builds that shoot well then one one "pre" build.  I just enjoy building these rifles.
