inside of my stock.  This is my first build and I used a cmt carbine spring and H buffer inside of a magpul ubr stock.  When I tilt the gun up and down, I can hear the buffer spring sliding a short distance.  Is there a remedy to this or have I made a mistake somewhere along the way?  Thanks

Perhaps the sound you're hearing are the weights inside the buffer moving back and forth?

You are likely hearing the buffer weights moving in the buffer. Completely normal.

Good answer guys.

Kathy, try pushing the buffer back into the receiver extension.

Is it under tension from the get go?

Does it push against the buffer retaining pin?

If your buffer spring is more than about 7" long (collapsible stock tube) then it should not have any free play.
