Hey fellas, I'm new to the forum i figured id share some pictures of my first AR build. I started with a rock river arms stripped lower, dpms lower kit, and a double star upper. its nothing amazing but was interesting. The lower was pretty simple thanks to help from a buddy and the fact that i had read the references on this website. Just ordered a trijicon TA31 RCO for it today that should be in soon. thanks for the guide on here it was helpful. thanks, Nick http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v155/127/5/15610738/n15610738_33322718_6881.jpg http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v155/127/5/15610738/n15610738_33322719_7215.jpg http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v155/127/5/15610738/n15610738_33322716_6258.jpg |
| i havent had any issues with the DPMS kit, however. it is a royal pain in the ass to get the rear take down pin out. i was told ill prob need to sand it down or something but havent done anything like that, instead i just scratch the hell out of the lower reciever when i take it out. The upper is set very tight and i have to push down on the hand guard to release it from the lower but its all manageable. I imagine the more i use it the easier it will become. thanks for welcoming me to the site. |
| there werent too many snags, luckily i had my buddy there to help. it was more or less him showing me what to do and i actually did it. The pin for the trigger guard took the longest. supposedly they oversize them a bit so they will go no where once installed, so that i think took the longest. and then the lower got a little scratch that u can barely see in the picture putting the bolt catch pin in but really no issues at all, it was fun and over too quickly |

alright so my acog just came in , i figured id show it off http://photos-738.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v166/127/5/15610738/n15610738_33363542_4942.jpg http://photos-738.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v166/127/5/15610738/n15610738_33363586_8420.jpg |
Just curious.....but what makes the ACOG so popular given the high cost? |
| to me it was just a preference thing. ive used the m68 CCO and while it is nice im not the biggest fan of it. I looked through one of these and fell instantly in love. its got good zoom, very clear site picture, bullet drop compensator, and of course the awesome red chevron. it been prove tough enough in combat so its an overall great acog, to me but yah it was very expensive |
