Hi my name is Ryan.
I recently started building my first AR. My friend had a Yankee Hill 16" Carbine Length Upper that he was about to give up because he is upgrading soon, and when I saw the Yankee stripped lower for sale I jumped all over it! I received the upper from him with a Yankee Hill custom rail forearm so you could put the rails wherever you want, but I really like the look of the DD Lite Rail. So I had to upgrade! Well long story short here is my build so far. Yankee Stripped Lower No-Brand LPK Yankee Hill Upper Receiver w/ 16" Diamond Fluted Barrel 1:9 Twist w/ a Phantom 5C2 Flash/Comp Daniel Defense Lite Rail Magpul CTR Magpul MIAD (Backordered) Magpul Enhanced Trigger (Must have!) Here are a couple pics: I am going to guess you can tell which pictures I took with the macro lens... http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb280/ooja3k/DSC_0002.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb280/ooja3k/DSC_0003.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb280/ooja3k/DSC_0008.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb280/ooja3k/Untitled.png |

Thanks!
Ya i just picked up the upper on Monday and the DD Lite Rail arrived today so I basically just completed it tonight! I can't wait to go to the range on Thrusday and get it zero'd in after I removed the barrel for the Rail install. Now I just have to start saving for that EOTECH 516 that looks so dang appetizing... |

Looks very nice..........what parts kit did you use on the YHM lower and how did everything fit together? I have a stripped YHM lower hiding in my safe and can't to do something with it............. Well I did have a High Standard parts kit backordered online, but when I went to pick up my lower (after 10 days of DROS...) the gun shop actually had a couple parts kits in stock. So I just pulled the trigger on the one they had in stock and cancelled my online order. It came in one large clear bag and I don't know the brand. But I do know that it all went together pretty easily, with the exception of a front detent spring that was slightly too long.. I did notice there is absolutely NO play between the upper and lower receiver. This could be because they are both Yankee Hill products, or just because Yankee makes high quality parts. |
