OK I got an AR about a year and a half ago. Have been trying to decide to get aimpoint or eotech. Well Midway just put Aimpoint 7000 on sale for $199 so I ordered one.

I have what I believe is an M4 (flattop with a stand-up front sight)

So what kind of rings or mount do I need to get to mount my new aimpoint?

Help!

Mmmmmm……the AP 7000 uses dual rings for mounting, so this might be interesting. The only set ups I’ve seen with this type of AP model are CH mounted versions utilizing an ARMS #2 M16 CH mount and dual AP low rings.

ETA: I didn't see Quib's post before I submitted mine so his info is your start.

I've never seen that type of Aimpoint on an AR so I can only assume. They sell ring mounts, but you won't be able to co-witness with your front sight & the stock weld would prolly be wierd w/out some kind of riser. I'm also not sure if you could get away with a single 30mm ring mount with that 7000 on your AR or if you definitely need the two ring set up for that optic like Larue (prolly the best aimpoint or scope mounts money can buy) offers for scopes. If you only need one mount then there are several quality makes out there...Larue, MI, KAC, Aimpoint QRP/QRW, etc. Just depends on how much you wanna spend since these mounts can be quite pricey. I'm willing to pay for the Larue mounts, however.

I would suggest getting something like these.

Post some pics when you get it mounted on your rifle.
I'm sure some folks will be interested in how it looks...
