| Tomorrow I plan to order the bulk of my parts for my first build. I already have a Stag lower, and my buddy that is going to help me build the rifle gave me a barrel and hand guard. I am planning on ordering everything else from Del-ton. Hopefully I will be able to take pictures of the build as it goes on. |

Have you looked at this deal for a Stag 2H upper with LPK and Stock? It comes with a flip up rear sight. I ordered mine Nov 30th, UPS tried to deliver it today. No one was home...tomorrow after 5 I get it.

| I was wanting to customize my carbine. I wanted to paint it a good camo. Does anyone know if the Testors flat military paints that I already have will work well? I will be airbrushing it, and like I said, I already have this paint......but will it be durable, take the heat, and will will last more than a few months? |
OK, Del-Ton has pissed me off! I called to find out about shipping information, tracking, and to see if it was too late to add one item to my order. They told me that the order was not going to be shipped for 2-3 days because they were out of firing pins! I got a bit mad, and told them to ship everything else and send the firing pin later, or I will buy from someone else.

We are ordering parts, my buddy already has barrel for me, and hand guard. We are going to build it completely, no pre assembled uppers. He is a gunsmith and has built quite a few ARs, and now I am going to learn. Good to hear! I can tell you from my limited experience that all you need is AR15.com, youtube, google, and a few tools. You will be very impressed of what you will learn and the simplicity of the AR. |

I just got my butt stock in from Cheaper Than Dirt. Boy am I pissed off! The buffer is the wrong size, and Cheaper Than Dirt will not just send me another buffer! I have to wait for them to send me a label to ship this one back, send it, and now I have to order another one.
I will NEVER order from them again! |

Sorry to hear you've having problems. If you're sold on the Del-Ton upper, I have a stripped T-Marked Del-Ton upper I can sell you. Never been fired. Needs ejection port cover, and forward assist.
Or, you can get really good deals on the remaining parts you'll need, from JSE surplus. They have really fair prices, and fair (and fast) shipping to boot. Bolt Carrier Group––$105 LPK––$65 Complete M4 upper-$95 Not sure what all else you need, but they'll most likely have it. Good luck! |

ok, I got my butt stock and it was not right, the buffer will not fit in the tube...Cheaper Than Dirt was of no help, but I did get hold of the manufacturer Leaper (UTG). They told me what the problem was, that the buffer tube was not manufactured correct, and they are expressing me a new one! They have proven to me they have great customer satisfaction procedures. The rest of my parts should be here on Friday (1/8) according to the UPS tracking. I have made arrangements with my buddy (gun smith) who is going to help me build the carbine, and we plan on doing the build on Sunday. I also have 80 rounds of factory ammo to test fire it (Christmas present from my wife). I am finally getting this all together. I will post pics of the build and the final product.

ok, Got the thing built and put 40 rounds through it with out problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I forgot to take pics during the build, but will take some to post. The barrel, hand guard, and grip are already camoed because they are off a friend's gun, he did not like them and gave them to me. I will camo the rest of the gun and then add those pics too. |

ok, finally got to take it out and sight it in. With the open sights, I was dinging a steel target at between 60 and 90 yards. I was really impressed with both the rifle, and my self. I let a couple of other guys put a mag or two through it too. in all, about 100 rounds. Feels good to have a nice carbine again! |

Nice paint job. Looks good. ![]() Thanks, I got the base coat on, and was really nervous about adding the camo. I am happy with the results. To make the camo pattern, I printed out a Google image of a pattern I liked, then cut out some of the pattern and held it about 1 inch away when spraying the colors. It was pretty easy. Having the single point sling adapter helped, was able to hang the rifle by it using a length of fly-line backing (very strong and thin). |
