My goal was to build a light (for 18")rifle from ground up that would be fun at the range and be somewhat competitive if I every find time to run 3gun.  It will also be used on coyotes out in SD from time to time.

Anderson Lower
Anderson LPK
Element Arms Buffer kit
Magpul K2+ Grip
Magpul SL Stock
Spikes Gen II billet upper
Faxon 18' Gunner Rifle length barrel
Superlative Arms .625 Adjustable gas block w/Bleed off
Precision Armarment M4-72 Comp
Seekins 15" NOX rail
D. Wilson MFG Lightweight Nitrate BCG
Raptor CH

I'm planning on picking up a PA 1-6x ACSS and a Aero Lightweight SPR mount once the scopes are back in stock.  I'll also be picking up a LaRue MBT-2S trigger soon to finish it off.  Let me know what you think!

That's a nice stick, OP.  Should be a good shooter for you.
You'll love your MBT trigger, it's worth the wait.

Thanks!  That's what I'm reading about the LaRue, I polished the Anderson FCG but it still has a horrendous pull weight so I can't imagine good groups until I swap it out.

A Very Nice Rifle.

I just completed a very similar project.  In my experience the highlights being the 18" Gunner with Rifle length gas, the 15" rail & the Anderson lower. YMMV.

It is much more maneuverable & lighter than most smaller guns I've seen.

My next step is the Tannerite, the AR500 steel, and the milk jugs filled with colored water.  The clays in the skeet machine is an idea I'm also playing with.  Reactive targets are it!

Nice looking build. I actually hadn't seen that upper on a build yet. Cool

Looks good. A billet lower would of really brought it together. If you build another rifle, get a billet lower and swap them (i do that kind of stuff on a regular basis!)

Thanks!

I plan on getting a billet lower at some point, just wasn't sure if I felt compelled to spending the $450 Spikes wants for their GenII to make it matching quite yet...

Nothing wrong with Anderson though... Just noticed that's what you used. I have 5 builds on Anderson's and done a few more for friends on Anderson.

Oh I hear ya, I'm in no rush since it will purely be a cosmetic upgrade IMO since I have no need for Ambi lower.  I only picked up the Anderson since the local gun shop that a friends buddy opened up recently only had these in stock otherwise I probably would have went billet off the bat. Next up will be a 9mm(glock mags) or a 7.62x39(Ak mags) AR build before I consider switching this one over to a billet lower.  I already have a ton of 7.62x39 ak mags so that makes since but 9mm just sounds fun.  I'm sure I would end up getting a G19 too since i would already have all those glock mags if I go that route...hahaha, black rifle addiction is a bitch.
