Let me start by saying this will be my first optic and I don't know if my concerns are legitimate.  I am looking for a  short to mid range optic that is as versatile as possible.

What are people's opinions of the Burris AR-332? I am worried that a fixed magnification scope, like the ar-332, would be hard for short range target acquisition.  Is it reliable?  Would you recommend something else, why?

I am also looking at the Weaver 1-3x, but am worried about low light reticle visibility.
The Millett DMS seems to have everything I am looking (variable mag, illuminated reticle) but am concerned about it's reliability.

Thoughts?

I just picked up a weaver 1-3x20 [V3]
Looks to be a very solid built optic...Its VERY clear and at one power will be VERY fast to get that sight picture..does give alittle bit of a "fishbowl" but its not bad.
Havn't fired it yet on my rifle.. waiting for a Burris P.E.P.R mount to get here on wednesday.
But you might wanna give it a try..seems very nice.
as far as low light...id perfer a Aimpoint or Eotech if your going to be doing alot of shooting in the dark..if not it should be fine...if you have a light on your rifle [which you always should IMO] then you can always just pop off the scope and use your irons
