[ARCHIVED THREAD] - My patch is stuck

Hey everyone I feel really dumb asking this. Well I have the cabela's tatical cleaning kit made by otis with the all purpose patches. The thing is this I was cleaning the AR with it & its stuck in the Barrel. I can see the top of it when I look down the back of the gun. So how do I get it out?

Blow it out with a blank?

A few taps with a small hammer on the end of the cleaning rod is how I'd go about it.

Get yourself a nice Dewy coated rod or Tipton Carbon Fiber rod and push it out. Otis is ment for field cleaning and not a good choice for a through home cleanding. A rod like above will do a much better job for you.

The site archive holds most of the related OTIS threads, and those can‘t be retrieved. In most all cases the patch has to be pushed out or tapped out with a wooden rod and mallet. Extra CLP down the bore helps.
