I've owned and operated an AK for a while now but I recently decided to build an AR. I've got a Anderson upper, CMMG barrel, CMMG mid length gas tube, and CMMG low pro gas block. Thinking about internals and I'm leaning towards a Daniel Defense BCG and LPK. Any ideas or suggestions for internals or the rest of my build is greatly appreciated.

Welcome.

Well what barrel are u using specifically. The barrel and trigger are your most important pieces..

What are you building the rifle for? Alot of people go DD barrel and CMMG lower parts. You are doing it the other way round.

PasoGunner

Also what lower are u using?

Check out PSA for good deals on bolt and LPK... As for the bolt as long as its Mil spec HPI/MP tested your pretty much g2g. Couple companies that come to mind other than DD to look into: Spikes, PSA (palmetto state armory), BCM (Bravo Company USA), and others). I personally dig the Red Barn Armory Build it your self LPK Because you can customize it without buying parts you do not need.

thanks guys. just building the rifle to get into the AR world pretty much. basically for target practice but I want it to be durable and reliable enough if shit ever hit the fan. and its just a 16 inch medium gas length. not sure of the specific model. I ordered it from CTD. Im going to be using a Spike's lower.

CTD is one of the most expensive sites there is.

Primary Arms Been my go to lately

Trading Place Pawn has amazing sales.
Joe Bob's Outfitters is FAST

I would get a LPK without FCG and use a ALG ACT trigger Red Barn is great cause u build LPK with only what you need. You will also need tools if you don't have them. Nothing major and depends on how many rifles you plan to build. You will not build only one grasshopper!

Welcome to the addiction

Edit: Also AIM surplus is GTG

I'm good with CMMG LPK for a shooter grade gun. Mine was pretty good out of the box.

OP-for future builds, I'd recommend checking these sources well ahead of CTD:

Palmetto
JSE Surplus
DS Arms
Bravo Company
Model 1 sales

I really like the CMMG LPK's.

I used to feel that way, but this last CMMG LPK I got has a rather lowsy trigger, and the selector was out of spec-I had to make a shim to keep it from sticking out of the passenger side and marring up the finish on the left.  And with the detent not riding where it should, it was gritty and tough to move.  I needed an oversize selector for this build anyway, so I didn't bother contacting CMMG, but I was disappointed to say the least.  I'll stick to PSA and DSA parts kits from now on.
