Hey folks,
I put together this lower tonight (NFA lower with a RRA LPK). The mag button protrudes more than normal but I can't screw it in any further. The button bottoms out and so the catch can't screw any any further. Anyone else have this issue? Are there any mag buttons out there that are low profile? | You don't screw in the button to install it, you rotate the entire catch over on the left side of the receiver while holding the button all the way in with a blunt object. Turn the mag catch until the threaded rod end is flush with outer face of the oval shaped release button. |

Holding the button in as far as it would go still only let me rotate the catch a few times. |

Same issue.
I got it to a point where the button cannot turn left or right, but the threads are still half way into the button. Mags drop freely, but I am worried it may be unsafe. Did you just file the sides or need to do the top and bottom of the well also? All I have is a pair of scissors lol. Do I need to even worry if it functions properly? |
| I took a Dremel and I carved out the notch that was holding the button. It is a very little piece of material. It would work fine the way it is except you may have an inadvertent mag release if you bump into something. I shoot lefty so the rifle rests on that side when i have it on a sling so I wanted to make sure it was flush with guard on the receiver. I had problems with inadvertent releases early in Afghanistan back in '01 because we deployed with worn out equipment. Now I am anal about it. |

You didn't turn the button to install it did you? Push the button in as far as it will go and turn the catch. You will get another turn in there. I hope you haven't installed the bolt release yet! |

Yup I got the button to rotate a couple times and the catch to rotate 2 more times after that and it rubbed the bolt release buttons on last rotation.
It is really tough to push in and then have to push back on the catch to lock a mag. I wouldn't defend my residence with this lower. It would be however a great plinker. |
