I stopped at Sarco in Easton Thursday afternoon and they had 2 sets of NIW triangular handguards.
Obviously not my sale |
| Wish I could stop in at Sarco in Easton. I'd bribe someone for sure to let me look around. I might be cheap on most stuff but I'd definately pay the admission price to look around there and sign a release too if required. I know they have the retro gold stashed away. HNB glad you're getting some fresh air and prayers as stated. Hadn't seen you tag in a while. I think of you every time I light the torches or grab a bigger hammer. HeatNBeat now that is profound. |

I'm not sure how much retro stuff they have in Easton, I think a lot may still be in NJ. Most of the AR stuff I saw was new. I'm guessing that it will all be moved to Easton at some point.
BTW it wasn't exactly "fresh air" my boss sent me to the communist state of New Jersey on a project and I "accidently" got off at the Easton exit while coming back on 78. |

went out for milk and ended up in Aberdeen MD at a Military Vehicle rally Milk was kinda warm by the time I got home
Used to work there and a few of my retro pieces especially some of the pretty cool ones came from there but they were throwing them away. Between my marine buddies basically stealing stuff from Quantico and me installing the communications equipment for the govt I did pretty well on retro parts for free or cheap. The only stuff I ever personally took without asking for it was spent brass. Stealing never was my thing. Last nice job I did was to install all the site to site microwave telecom equipment for our state police dept. through the Blue Ridge. Did the install on most the local PD's, Fort Story and Mt Weather also to name a few. Rob, I bet a military vehicle rally would be pretty cool. I knida like tanks myself but more into the german stuff. Not as popular in my area as it once was but most everything vehicle related isn't. Too much expense for the average income household. In HS in the mid 70's three kids had Willys military jeeps for everday transportation and I doubt if their parents had over $1200 in any of them. They were pretty nice though for 4 cyl jeeps. My ride was a 307 cubic inch 1969 Chevelle dad bought for $200. First car I bought was a 1973 SS Nova for $1000. Built 350 with a muncie 4 speed and 12 bolt 3.73 posi. I also did V-8 conversions on jeeps for a while. Nothing like a good head wind flipping a lifted jeep over. Memories. |

Wait?!, you drove through new jersey without papers & lived to tell the tale? ![]() Glad your doing fine my friend, but I doubt you need NIW handguards |
I personally have owned a 44 CCKW 2 1/2 ton GMC with soft top,42 WC52 Dodge weapons carrier, also a soft top,and a 62 M422 Mightey Mite,,again soft top.Except for winter time,I never installed the canvas on any of them.Real nice to have the wind in your face.Just like our Harley

Fastswift, you the guy who punched a hole in my gas tank and stole my last 3 gallons of gas? Just kidding thats one nice funnel you got on the wall. Looks like that bady would feed a top fuel dragster. Cdenmark, sorry - that is a drywall texture gun on the wall and not a funnel. Just one more tool of the trade... |

Earl Shieb. He'll paint any car for $79.95.
You'd have thought Sherman was marching through Georgia the night Earl Shieb's burned down in Richmond. Last time I was there they were doing Friday night Christian Rock concerts. Looking back I must have sure looked stupid pouring my beer in a Mt Dew bottle. |

Wow! All I ever used was a putty knife, tape, let it dry, block sand and paint. That baby's for some serious drywalling. That's just a baby one! Ya oughtta see what the guys that do whole house new construction stuff use! Pulls behind the truck (truck is always covered in 3 to 5 inches of "texture") and looks like a concrete mixer! Hoses everywhere! Helped a buddy with his set up a few times. I blew white boogers for a week and was using a dust mask! ETA I see at LEAST 4 and a half builds in that picture Bro! |

I just spent 8 days in N.J. taking care of a sick parent. Those people are nuts on the road. I don't even like telling people that I'm a Joizey Native. |

It's hard to tell from the photo but it looks like you might have a WW2 Willys MB or Ford GPW chassis with an M-38 body. WW2 jeep frames will have vertical rear shocks and a tubular front cross member for a Willys and an inverted 'U' cross member for a Ford.
You have probably already seen this website but, in case you haven't it is THE website for WW2 jeeps. www.g503.com Quoted:
Here is my man toy sitting in the "cave" on the day it came home (and before I stripped off the rollcage and other unissued stuff) . 1946 M38 and right now it is pretty much stripped down and being rebuilt with a complete new braking system, new steering control group, with body work and paint in the future. Still working on finding the correct windscreen and a few other parts....Willys are almost as bad as RBRD http://i1028.photobucket.com/albums/y345/fastswift1/M38.jpg" target="_blank">http://i1028.photobucket.com/albums/y345/fastswift1/M38.jpg</a> |

I found that stuff looking for my tap and die set. Box said misc. Good stuff is in the house. The gortex is actually the good stuff in my opinion and I'll use that long before the furniture like tomorrow. I thought I had quit building retro's a couple years back but as usual I'm just a barrel or two away. Kinda got my heart set on a 7.62x39 but will probably be spring before I can do a barrel the way I want it. Got about a half ton of ammo. Never been a M-4 fan and free to use mill and lathe are 80 miles away. Don't know if I want an A-1, A-2 or flat top receiver, rifle or carbine. Gonna make it happen if I make it that long. |

Nice junk box! My brother gave me his woodland Gortex and I wore the sheet out of it! It never gets cold enough down here to use the full system but it was the best rain jacket I ever had! Left the truck unlocked and it grew feet and walked off. You know you want and A1, an A2 AND a flat top! |

My friend has a running GPW and this was taking up room in his garage and his wife wanted that space...and he gifted it to me! |
