I am looking to change up my AR-15. I want to change to a 12" Centurion Arms C4 rail or a 13.5" Noveske NSR. The weight savings of the NSR is really tempting to me. How close do things mount to the rail? Im thinking a AFG2 on the bottom. Light and maybe a rail cover for grip. Any pictures out there?

It mounts as close as the thickness of the rail you bolt up to it. Not going to be exactly flush. Gotta try and find thin rail adapters to bring it in closer. Anyways no need for an afg. They have a polymer hand guard/hand stop kit for these things that sit completely flush.

I really dont like that thing that Ive seen in pictures. Can you use just the handstop part kind of like the Larue handstop and not the whole thing? Id be cool with that.

It acts as a sort of a heat shield as well. Do you shoot with a glove? You might want to consider using them to not heat that hand up.

You can use the handstop on it's own.  I like the slim covers, and they should help with heat.  Here is my new build with the 13.5 NSR.  Just waiting for the FA and ejection port cover parts along with some BUIS.

I like how slim and lightweight the fore end is.
