Oh well, the moneys in the bank i've just got to find a dealer here in the u.k. so i can get my first m4 ( single shot only, due to our evil gun laws hen
Well i'm sure none of you are too bothered, but it's a big deal to me, i've been in love with the m4 for a long time so getting one is a dream come true.

If it's a big deal to you, it's a big deal to a lot of people.  Some people believe in the fact it's not just another person with another gun, but somebody else that has fulfilled a dream and helped stand up for their rights.

Good luck with their purchase!

I take it you mean a silencer ? Do you have problems having them in the u.s. ? we can have them on our ticket only for hunting.

you got the hard part out of the way.

actually I wasnt aware GBR has a single shot limitation, but not surprised.

In fact, I am surprised you can own one at all, as i thought the UK had some pretty Draconian gun laws.

Curious as to your options- Colt Bushmaster, etc, or are HK and Oberland (Euro makers) the preferred choice?

Cheerio ole boy..... and do drop us a telly when you score.

(Damn, that sounded gay)

Hi Redfisher

I'm not to sure about my options at the minuet, i know there are 2 companys that sell the m4, sabre defence and southern gun co, i dont know if they manufacture there own rifles or if they are just a middle man for colt.

i do know that there not to easy to get hold of, must be small prodution runs or somthing, and another thing i know is that it'll cost me £1000/$1800ish just for the basic model.

But it's worth it

Problems?

Depends on the state.  Some state's allow them some don't.

If you live in a state that allows them, then you need to fill out some paperwork, get is signed off by the cheif law enforcement officer of the area, and send the forms in with pics, prints, and a $200 check.  THEN you'll be able to take the supressor home from the shop.

Popular?

Railed forearms (KAC, LaRue, DD, Troy etc.)

Optical Sights (Aimpoint, EOTech, ACOG)

Light (Surefire)

Vertical foregrip (if you have the railed forearm)

Good luck with it!

Thanks Forest

I'll look into those add ons, dont think i'll need the vertical foregrip though, i can only fire one shot at a time, i suppose the vertical grip would be better for a full auto situation ( which i wont be experiencing in this country ).

Maybe on day the laws will relax over here

I've always been enamored with old Land Rovers, but I drive a Jeep,I noticed an SA80 in a LRO magazine that was mounted in an ex-military restored lightweight and wondered about private ownership of military type rifles. Are there single shot SA80s avaliable also?
7/15/2005 4:36:44 AM EDT
[#17]
No, the cadet force use a version called the L98 which is single shot but there not available to the public, we can get hold of single shot slr's which the army used to use. also various ak style rifles, again in single shot.

The only semi outo rifles we can have are .22lr, i have the ruger 10/22 , nice little rifle but it would be nice to shoot something bigger or even full auto ( dreams ).

I wouldnt even hesitate, if i had the finances i would be over there like a shot, alot of people from my club holiday there just so they can get a good shoot in while there there.

The way the laws are here we are close to putting 'air rifles' on firearms tickets, no thats goin toooooo far.
