I shot mt AR for the first time yesterday.  It ran fine for the first 13 rounds, and then started doubling on me. After that every time I chambered a round, the trigger was like it was on safe. I had to drop the mag, clear the round and dry fire it and start over. The rifle is an Oly lower marked 2004(looks new) I bought on the EE. The upper is a new RRA flat top that I put an enhanced bolt/ch in . Any ideas or suggestions would be mucho appreciated! One other thing I noticed was the trigger started to feel like it was hanging on something.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I had a problem with doubling and it turned out to be a bad mag.  Haven't used it since and the problem went away.  On your trigger, make sure something is not in there. Piece of trash or something that may be binding it..

Whose parts kit did you use?

Who put the lower together?

Start by doing a function check of your rifle, then pull it in half and check out your disconnector spring, see how it works ( or if it works).

Without any further information, my first guess would be the mag. Is it USGI? Have you tried different mags and seen the same effect?

Thanks for the replies! I bought the lower here off of the EE. It looks like it's hardly been used.  The only mags I have are Labelle from Eaglefirearms-they were brand new also. I had a chance to look at the rifle last night, and noticed the trigger pin had almost walked out of the left side of the receiver. Could that be the problem?

Thanks again,
Mike

If the pin was partially out it may have caused the disconnector to "cant" ever so slightly to one side, causing the double as it was not catching the hammer.  I assume you are referring to a double shot?

Yes Sir, bouble shot...bapbap! Hopefully it was the trigger pin walking out. I see in my earlier posts I didn't quite answer a question. The lower I bought was a "complete lower", so I have no idea what parts were used for the FCG. I think I'll just buy a new pin, and try that!
Thanks for all the help, I'll report back after the next range trip...hopefully no more dirty looks from the BR guys!
