Ok need some help with choosing a rifle scope. Ive narrowed it down to two brands that Id like but im open to suggestions as long as they are in the ball park of $50 of the other ones. So im thinking either Nikon pro staff 4-12x40 bdc $200 or Leupold mark ar 3-9 for $350? for the price Im going for the nikon and i like the magnification on it but to me it seemed like the Leupold had a clearer view and more crisp to it? I like both but cant decide. Id also be open for one that has a lit reticle for around those prices. any input would be appreciated.

I bought a Cabelas tactical series scope and was very happy with it. It was on sale and in the price range you were talking about.  It was for a varmint rifle and the magnification was higher but I thought it was a lot of scope for the money.

Hurricane Ike destroyed my house and everything I owned except my gun safe and the guns in it. The safe was actually submerged in water and silt for 6 days. I've since had them all refinished and all is good.
The only scope that survived and is still good is a Leopold. The other 6 were ruined. I'll always buy Leopold because of that.
