You might be better off buying from Legal Transfers as you'll be able to get a complete upper rather than just the upper and barrel from RRA and Pete can build it up any way you want. Legal Transfers also sells chrome-line RRA barrels which are only about $30 more than the one you planned on. You'll also need a complete bolt/carrier and charging handle. I didn't see that on your list. I personally would opt for either a Back Up Iron Site or detachable carry handle over the Chinese scopes. With the grips, I think it is just a personal thing. They're all different shapes and sizes and you just have to find one that your hand likes. The G27 grip is a little fatter than the Hogue. Also keep in mind there is such a backorder on most AR manufacturers that it may take a couple months before you even receive the rifle after ordering. You might have a better chance ordering from one of the Industry Parners vs. ordering direct from RRA. That's just my opinion and it doesn't mean much |

You can get most of the RRA parts through eaglefirearms.net I have had good results with them. You can also go with a Stag lower (same as RRA) and save a couple bucks. The Stag quality is excellent. +1 on the BUIS vs. the cheap optics. I like to build my stuff to take a licking. I used a Aimpoint Comp M2 and a LMT BUIS for my sighting package. If I should take a nasty enough hit to break the scope, one lever and I am back to good old irons. It all depends on what your are building it for. |
