Hello
Im a newbie on here and gathering up parts for my first build. I have acquired most parts that I need to build my 14.5" pinned rifle and need some guidance as to what buffer and spring to use. I am pinning on a YHM Phantom 5M1 comp/brake. I have an ICE Arms M16 BCG. What would you recommend as far as a buffer and spring? I have looked at the Spikes Tactical Buffer Tube Kit with the ST-T2. I have also looked at piecing together an ST-T2 with a Springco Blue spring. Ultimately I am looking at a smooth shooting rifle. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Is your barrel gas system Mid-Length or Carbine?
If Mid-Length, I would recommend the following. Spike's T2 buffer (you already have it) David Tubb Chrome Silicon Buffer Spring I have this setup in all 5 of my AR's and they work very well. If you need to speed up your cycling you may want to use a Spike's T1 buffer. I don't have a carbine gas system AR, so I can't recommend anything there. |

It is a carbine length system. And I don't have the T2 yet. Just wanted to be sure before I committed to anything |

Start with the standard carbine buffer and certainly don't pay more for a logo. This part does't make a significant or much of a noticeable difference in function. In fact I would challenge anyone here to document a measurable difference. Good luck! |
