Anyone know where I can send my barrel and FSB to get installed? The FSB uses the taper pins and the barrel will need to have the "slots" cut into it for the pins. Any suggestions?

Adco wants like $150 for the work. They might be good, but that is quite expensive. If I can't find someone, I will probably just sell the FSB and get a railed clamp on gas block and sight for it.

I'd have to know the work of any local gun shop before ever considering to have one drill and pin a front sight tower!

adco has a good service record!!

they might want 150$ for it but you get what you pay for.

its not as simple as putting the barrel in a vise and taking a drill and bit and reamer...the machines they used are precision for this type of work

you could find someone local do it for half price only to get your barrel back with your new FSB canted to the left or right thus making it useless then having to either pay to repair the barrel or buy a new one and be back at square one.

Took me a while to find him on here again, but jntmjt1 did mine in Feb. It turned out great. I had him pin and weld two 14.5 barrels, install a FSB, and actually assemble the uppers (didn't have the tools yet), and I want to say all of that cost around 50 something.

Not sure if he's still doing them, but I'd check.

Thanks guys. I will keep ADCO on the back burner just in case, but would probably just go to a clamp on before spending that much money. Thank for the reply guys!

Vandenberg Customs here is Houston did mine for 65$. Not sure how much shipping would be because i dropped it off and picked it up. He doesn't believe in taper pins though, says he's had too many dumb customers screw up their sight by driving them out the wrong way so he just uses straight pins. Mine has held up just fine for 1000rds or so. It's not a safe queen either, gets tossed around in tool boxes and trunks, closets etc. No shifting whatsoever, and is zeroed just fine.

I had a barrel with a broken ear on an A2 FSB. The spare A2 FSB I had did not fit the holes, so I ended up just getting the Armalite clamp on FSB. Worked like a charm, and a hell of a lot cheaper than sending off the barrel to get re-drilled and shit.

OIF_Vet08-09,
If I could find one, I would use it, but I can't find one anywhere. I know from now on though, to make sure the gas block is clamp on. This was the last build with that front sight anyway. Thank for the replies guys!
