I'm trying to replace the receiver end plate on my AR... I want to install a rear sling mount in it's place. I can't for the life of me loosen the castle nut to remove the buffer tube and stock. I've tried heating it with a blow dryer... then a heat gun. I'm sure loc-tite has been used, so I thought applying heat would help. But no luck....

Any idea's or tricks...?

put it in the freezer. when you heat it up your making the parts tighter to each other. I dont mean to under mind you either but i have to say it, also make sure your turning it the right way also. but yeah leave it in the freezer about an hour and see what happens if no luck leave it for a few more hours. you should be good then.

The castle nut is staked, you’re going to need to lean into it to get it to spin back.

From the butt stocking looking forward, lefty loosy/righty tighty, so you need to spin the castle nut counter clockwise, and back up the receiver at the threaded ring to prevent bending/cracking the lower receiver.

Success!

I had to smack the hell out of the wrench with a hammer a few times to loosen it up. Here are some pictures of the new rear sling mount.

Thanks for the help!
