I am putting an upper/16" disspator barrel together for a buddy who has a Spikes upper and a known shops dissipator barrel.  I put the whole thing together, then went to slap on the MOE rifle length handguards.  They don't fit, not even close.  So, I compare the upper barrel combo with my own standard rifle length upper.  If I measure on the dissipator from the face of the upper to the rear of the A2 front sight assembly, it measures 12 5/16th inches.  My rifle length measures 12 3/4 inches and the MOE handguards fit on my standard rifle upper.  I think the A2 front sight assembly was pinned to far to the rear on the dissipator.  If I line up my other upper next to it it appears this is the problem.  Any body know if the measurement is off?  Thanks for the help.

By the way, the dissipator has a short length gas block that fits under the handguards seperate from the A2 sight.

Sure seems like it's a little off to me....   You might need to move  -or remove-  the FSB.    YHM makes a nice clamp on FSB and you can stick it on the barrel anywhere it suites your handguard..

The FSB is in a standard position on all barrels,so you must have a barrel that's defective.

Is the dummy FSB pinned? If not,try and move it forward.Who made this barrel?

Send it back for refund, and buy one that's correctly assembled.

Probably not the best solution in these crazy times,as a replacement barrel would be months away.

It came from Adco, the guy waited for it a while already.  Personally I'm not a dissy fan but that is what he really wanted.  I'll have him call Steve at Adco and talk to him about it.  They will stand behind it, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake since this was the first time doing a dissy.  Thanks for the help.

By the way, the front sight base is pinned.
