Hey Guys, I'm currently about to begin cutting down my standard A2 Post Type Gas Block to allow for the installation of my LaRue 7.0 Rails on my Bushy M4gery. My question is this..... what do you do, or how do you remove the hand guard rings behind the Front Post?...I'm referring the rings where the standard hand guards slide in to lock in place. I looked under the Build it yourself section on here, but did not find any info that voered this. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks, Mike |
 I stole this screenshot from ar15barrels.com the front hand guard retainer is sandwiched between the front sight and the stepped increase in diameter of the barrel (** on the pic). Somebody might come by and tell you another way to get the retainer off, but its not very hard to just knock out the two pins that retain the FSB, and remove it. They are tapered, so knock them out with a punch from the small side to the big side. Oil up the front of the barrel so you dont scratch it. |
