I can't get these things on FOR THE LIFE OF ME!. i just bought a barrel and installed it but now i cant get normal carbine length hand guards  on the thing. I can get on with some work but then the next one REFUSES to go on.

any tips tricks?

Work out more, have a buddy help, or get one of these:


It helps to have the upper attached to a complete lower.

I finally got the dang things on, im going to purchase that damn tool there tho, ... not that my manly muscles couldn't handle it. RAWR!

You don't need that specific tool, if you have a pair of channel-lock type pliers or something similar like a hedge clipper, you can simply use the leverage of the handles to hold the delta ring back. If you already have something like that anyway, just trying to save ya money.

If you have an extra set of hands (wife, buddy, etc.), it makes it worlds easier.  The first time getting them off/on is the hardest, but they are easier the next time(s).  I don't think the tool is worth the money.

Yeh i suppose, I won't have to take them off for a while anyways. after i got them both on i think i got the hang of it. but hey good news is I finished building it, my first AR ever, im kinda excited for the range tomorrow.
