I am about to place an order on a rail for my M4 A3 Bushmaster Heavy Barreled Carbine. I already have a A.R.M.S. .5 M.O.A. Rear Flip Up sight. Mounted directly in front of that is an Eotech 512. It is the larger Eotech so I have no room left on my current flat top rail. I intend to mount an Eotech 3x magnifier directly behind the Eotech. To do this A.) the rail needs to be continuous and even so I can move the Eotech forward. B.) Fit my gun C.) Be a halfway decent rail.
Rails I am deciding between: Daniel Defense M4 Rail 7.0 Carbine LaRue Tactical 7.0 Handguard I think the LaRue will do what I need it to. If I was sure the Daniel Defense would do the job i would have already ordered one. The LaRue has a couple pluses because it's cheaper and already has a mount for a sling on the rail. I like the low profile sides and think that it may be my best bet. Please let me know about these rails. Thanks, j0hn |

Heck, on an HBAR - the TROY MRF-DI would work.
Any DD rail (Omega, M4 Lite) will work great - if continuous upper rail is a requirement, go with that. TROY MRF-C will also do - simplest to install, requires chopping off the delta ring. LaRue 7.0 rail will be the nicest looking, but still isn't continuous upper rail. |

I know LMT makes a forged upper that has the railed forend and upper as one solid piece. Yes it looks like this... http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk99/USMC03_photos/LMT%20SWAT%20Gun/DPP_0143.jpg If the LaRue will fir my M4 like this then I think it will work. The LMT MRP is what he was talking about & that is not it. |

I think this is what i am looking for. I am not looking for a continuous rail as I stated... I am looking for one that is level with the upper receivers rail and can allow for bridging of optics. Like this: http://www.troyind.com/Images1/mrfdismall1.jpg http://www.troyind.com/Images1/mrfdismall2.jpg It's generally not a good idea to bridge the gap like that on a two piece drop in if you expect the optic to hold zero. Even a FF with a continuous top rail can flex but it's better than that set up. Of course, the MRP or VIS would be the optimal set up. Get what works for you though. |
