I have 3 AR's that are needing slings and I need some opinions.  Here's what I have;

Bushmaster Varminter:  This is a benchgun with some hunting use.

DPMS AP4 .308:  I bought this for a CQ deer hunting rifle.  My inlaws do a lot of deer drives and I need a sling that allows me to get the gun up very quickly.  It also needs to be comfortable as we will be walking almost all day.

M4ish Clone:  This is my fun gun.  I'll use it for blasting, hunting, benchwork, and whatever I feel like.

FYI:  Both the M4 and the AP4 have CTR stocks.  The M4 also has a railed forearm.

Boonie packer! They are well made. comfortable, and quick adjusting. They have excellent and prompt customer service and free shipping to boot! I just bought my second two point from them and couldn't be happier.

or a 1906 sling, these both can be used as a shooting aid.

For hunting the only time I use mine (now) is walking in, in the dark, walking out in the dark, or with one hand on a drag rope. deer pop up to quick, and I have missed too many deer because I couldn't get the shot off. I will never walk the woods during hunting hours slung, especially when driving deer.......dont let comfort get in the way of a 9 day deer season

I would get this for the BM:
Tactical Intervention

Gear sector for the other two.  I use the single point sling, but you'll probably be better served by the two point.
Gear Sector

Viking Tactics is also popular.
VTAC

Damn skippy.

I love BP slings.  Inexpensive, well made, and free shipping.

Their 2 point slings are great.

As far as slings go...

I run 2 points on any patrol/long range rifle.  No question this is the way to go.

For my M4 or any run and gun setup, I use a single point.

Key is to have your rifles set up for everything, and use which sling fits your needs at that moment.  My M4 has QD points on the rail and stock, as well as the noveske minimalist plate.  I can run a 2 point or 1 point with ease.

Get one good 1 point (I like Gear Sector and the Magpul MS2) and one good 2 point (Vickers, Vtac, Boonie Packer, or the MS2 in a pinch), and set them up so you can run them on all your rigs.  Easiest way to go.

The MS2 is a REALLY nice single point sling- I run it on my novekse end plate with a bare QD swivel in there- I just hook it to that.  I don't however feel that it is as nice as a dedicated 2 point sling.  It will work in a pinch, but if your intent is to use it as a 2 point  more than half the time, you'd be better off getting a seperate 2 point sling.

Gear sector makes a really nice single point if a dedicated single point will fit your needs better.  Honestly, thats what I run on my M4 99% of the time.

Nailed it on the head with the first post.

Besides the ones on my Retro rifles those are the only slings I own. Very comfortable & built to withstand harsh use. The best sling you can get for under $20.

I have more than a few slings. The VTAC I got from LaRue is my favorite by a long shot.

I prefer my Viking-LaRue VTAC padded two point sling with built-in quick release sling swivels on my heavier ARs for hiking, climbing, running, etc, and when I need to use my hands for chores, it could be adjusted tight to the body and won't get loose.

For my M4gery and lighter carbines I prefer to use my Gear Sector GS-2P two point sling, it could also be converted as a single point sling using their optional attachment adapters and several types of receiver end sling mounts (webbing burnsed loop, quick detach sling swivel, or HK hook type attachment).

If you plan on using the QD swivel thing in the ctr, might look at the vtac thats on larue's website.  I got one a while back and if I remember right there are a few on ebay right now for a good price.  Excellent padded sling.  The one on bottom is a regular, 5.11 vtac
