if someone could scan and e-mail them to me, I'd be greatful.
[email protected] I picked up a usedDPMS 300 short mag with a Jewell, and the trigger doesn't want to reset all the time, figured before I dug into blind, I'd ask first for a change. thx |

On the 20th on this forum the trigger was discussed.
Recent Jewell thread The book that has the instructions is on Amazon for $21.75... AR 15 Complete Assembly Guide (AR-15 Guide Vol 2) (Paperback) by Walt Kuleck & Clint McKee (Author) I did a Google search for what you are asking and nothing came up. Good luck! Bruce |

Short version,
You have two screws and a star cam. Front screw is for over travel after the hammer is released. The back screw if for second stage set point. Star cam (via the hammer spring leg on on of the notches) is for over all tension. Step one the front screw. Set it 1/4 turn higher that the point that the trigger can be pulled and the hammer is released. Set the screw too low and the hammer will never be released from the trigger. Back screw. while pulling the trigger, set the disco to add tension to the back of the trigger (just above the trigger hook), just before the trigger is released. Note: enough tension (screw set too high) you will not have a second stage tension increase. To much and you will have trigger creep at the point of increased tension until hammer release. Once you have these screws set, then gauge the trigger for total pull weight uat hammer release (full pull). Now either moving the hammer leg up or down on the cam notches, get the total break weight to 4.6lbs (legal min limit for a CMP rifle is 4.5lbs). Note:Setting up the over all break weight less than this often lead to the trigger not resetting correctly. Figure you are safe to about 3.5lbs with a stock unit if you want to go this light, and have to stone/fit the unit to the rifle to get down below the 2.5lb mark working reliably (battle ready). |

Hi-
I was getting ready to start a new thread on Jewell triggers and saw this. For anyone else who might need these now or to save them for later... http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/JewellTrigger-AR-15-adjustmentinstr.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/Jewellinstructions6-1.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/Jewellinstructions2.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/Jewellinstructions3.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/Jewellinstructions4.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f20/phi376/Jewellinstructions5.jpg |
