I'm sure this has been discussed many times before, but I can't seem to find a thread on it. Can anyone recommend a punch set that has a good variety of sizes for AR work. Also, are the brass punches better for this? Thanks for your input. |

Ditto the roll pin punch set from Brownells. You will never flatten a roll pin or have your punch slip off scratching your receiver if you use the proper tool for the job. The entire set only costs about $25 and it will pay for itself the first time you use it. Roll pin punch set |

Would these be any good?? www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=41976 |
RPP's have a small bump or nub in the center of the punch that centers in the hole of the roll pin. I personally don't think they are needed. You most always start a roll pin into a hole with a large punch and finish seating it with the smaller punch. FYI remember masking tape on the surface's you don't want scratched is also a good idea. |

Did not see where any one mentioned the roll pin starter punches ,hollow ended so they hold the little devils - they are the greatest thing IMHO. Work great on the rear sight assbly. and the bolt catch pin. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=781&title=ROLL+PIN+HOLDERS |
On the roll pin holders, do I need to get all five, or are there only one or two that I need? |
