I have a .264LBC (aka 6.5 Grendel) with an oversize gas port. The current non-adjustable gas block has caused reliability issues in the past and is now having some heavy leaking. I never noticed the leaking issues because it had a Hogue free float tube handguard on it. The Hogue handguard is now scrap aluminum (different post for another time) and I have a MI Free Float gen3 Mlok ready to go. After conferring with folks more knowledgeable than myself I know I need an adjustable gas block to deal with the oversize gas block.
I've been looking at them online and reading everything I can find on the forum but I haven't been able to come to any conclusions. What would you guys recommend? The rifle's primary use is for shooting paper but it will be my primary hunting rifle if I can ever get access to somewhere to hunt. I don't foresee running it suppressed in the near future but it's definitely a possibility down the road. Something that doesn't require removing the handguard each time to adjust would be great. Help? Thanks. |

I put one from Superlative Arms on my GII (.308).
It's the only .308 AR I have and the only adjustable venting gas block I have. I say that because I don't know if AR10 are naturally cleaner running than AR15's or if setting it to vent excess gas/pressure out at the gas block is keeping the inside (bolt/locking lug area, upper receiver and carrier) of the GII cleaner than any of my AR15s or if it's just the way AR10's run. I plan to get another SA adjustable/venting gas block and put it on one of my AR15's to test that theory out. |

Thanks for all the great answers. I like the SLR but it's more than twice the price of any of the rest and unfortunately out of the current budget.
If you could get these at these prices what would you choose? I'm down to these three, only one is in stock 1. Seekins Precision Low Profile Adjustable $57.11 + Free Shipping (in stock) 2. Odin Works Low Profile Adjustable $73.71 + Free Shipping (out of stock - email notification when back in stock) 3. Superlative Arms Adjustable $89.99 + $4.99 Shipping (out of stock - may be back in stock 7-31-2017) Is a bird in the hand worth more than two in the bush or would it be better to wait for one of the out of stock gas blocks and, if so, which one would you pick? |

What a POS. Not only is the adjustment a PITA, but the screw interfered with the barrel shoulder, was made out of a soft brass and stripped easily. Emailed them 2x, never got a response back. Bought a SLR (early gen) Blew out the dentent/leaf spring. Mind you the gas block still worked, and the carbon buildup solidified the adjustment screw so it didn't really matter (7.5in SBR build) Emailed them, got a response on a late Saturday into Sunday, sent me a new block and never asked for the old one back, even though I offered. I now own several SLR gas blocks and other products. One of my other builds gets a shit ton of use (bumpsaw) and it has held up well. I do not own a Odin brand, but it does seem to follow the design of the Seekins, or more than likely vice versa due to material selection. I would rather the adjustment be on the front of the block or the side, not tucked under the gas tube itself. Just my 2c |

Both the Odin and SLR are of the same design. Both adjust out the front and have solid detents. The difference is Odin uses an Inconel adjusting screw, SLR a Melonite coated screw. SLR uses a external leaf spring for the detents, that keeps the spring from overheating and can easily be replaced.
SLR has great customer service replacing their earlier design with their current design if there is any problems. They also sell rebuild kits for the block. Also SLR offers different I.D.'s not just the most common .750 I.D. One thing to do to any gas block is move the adjusting screw every time you shoot the gun, stops the chance of the screw freezing up |
