SO I have a "cheap" complete upper with a railed gas block.  I would prefer a standard A2 front sight but drilling cuts for the pins is probably outside my skill set.  I have a ARMS 41 on another rifle which I am happy with but just looking for other possible option.

Does anyone make a clamp/bolt on style A2 front sight?  Any suggestions for a gas block mounted sight similar to an A2.

Thanks

Not an A2 style but we sell a lot of the Midwest Industries front sights for gas blocks where I work. Well put together sight and easy on the wallet.

You're looking for a gas block height, detachable front sight like this:

Several people make and sell them.  That picture is from Brownells.  About the cheapest you'll find is a UTG made one for $20 but of course, it's going to be made in China.

A gas block height sight like the one above me would be easiest.

But Armalite does make a clamp-on FSB, got mine from riflegear.com and I think CMMG sells it as well. If you're determined to have an FSB you could also take a normal one (one meant for taper pins) and drill and tap a hole in the bottom for a set screw. Would probably need the barrel dimpled for that route though.
