I'm working on a budget. Need a scope recommendation to mount on a removable carry handle for an M4gery. General use. Not likely to reach out and touch anything beyond 150.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

the little Weaver 1x3 variable gets good reviews here and is affordable. I have plenty of Weavers though not the little 1x3 model.

You didn't say what the budget limit is, though most people on a budget don't have an ACOG, Aimpoint, or Eotech on the list...

The problem with mounting on the carry handle is how high the scope will be.  It can be difficult to get a good cheek weld with a carry handle mounted scope, and the eye relief issues with magnified optics can be a real problem for fast aquisition.

If you need it mounted to the carry handle, you might have better luck with a red dot on a gooseneck mount.  This lets you avoid eye relief problems and gives fast aquisition, but starts to lose steam out beyond 100 yards.

Otherwise, a decent scope on an inexpensive one-piece mount would work.  Either way, good scopes under $250 (often well under) are the Weaver mentioned above, the Millett DMS-1 (my favorite budget scope right now), Nikon Buckmasters, Bushnell Elite 3200, Burris FFII, and Leupold Rifleman/VXI.
