Last week I took a defensive handgun course and my ess ice glasses did not perform so well.  They fogged up and were difficult to keep clean.  I have decided to go with goggles.  I want the best anti-fog, easy to clean goggles I can get.   I will pay whatever the cost to get something that will work.  I noticed that Oakley a-frame assault goggles run about $250.  ESS has a turbo fan goggle for about $150.

What do you recommend?

Goggles are great for dusty/windy conditions to prevent sand from poking you in the eye.

If you want eye protection for range-work, I would point you toward Oakley M Frames. They are, quite simply, the cat's meow.

Goggles are not fun to wear for extented periods of time, and in hot weather will probably cause you to sweat into your eyes, and in cold weather will fog up badly. Some of them will merrily fog up in warm weather, thus the preponderance toward fans and circualtion in the goggle.

Avoid the SG-1s, they fog horribly.  I know a bunch of guys who have been issued them (including myself), and most of us have nothing good to say about them.

A good anti-fog treatment is Cat Crap.  Used a lot for ski goggles and such.  I could not find any locally, but found several stores online that carry it.  It is a paste that you rub on and polish off.  A little bit goes a long way.  I use it on my Maxim goggles and it works very well.

ESS Advancer. They've got a new airflow system that works really well and would probably help mitigate heat/sweat and subsequent fogging.
